Important Info

Here are some of the essentials for anyone interested of looking to join Titans Blind Cricket. 

Blind Cricket is played by individuals with different levels of visual impairment, grouped into three main classifications:

  • B1 – Totally blind or very limited light perception.

  • B2 – Partial vision, able to recognize shapes but not detailed features.

  • B3 – More functional vision than B2, but still considered legally blind.

If you fall into any of these categories, you are eligible to play Blind Cricket.

Yes – Blind Cricket is based on the same rules and spirit as sighted cricket, but with a few adaptations. The ball is plastic filled with ball bearings so players can hear it.  Batting, bowling, and fielding all follow the cricket traditions, but with modifications that make the game fast, competitive, and fully accessible for visually impaired players.

Yes.  We are committed to world class coaching, and safeguarding children and vulnerable individuals, with strict protocols in place to protect every member of our team. Training takes place at our dedicated cricket oval in Pretoria, and we also have access to the elite facilities at SuperSport Park when available.

Must Read for Players
1. Binding to Constitutions
All players representing Titans Blind Cricket in any of its clubs acknowledge and agree that: 1.1 They are bound by the Constitution of Titans Cricket Union. 1.2 They are bound by the Constitution of the Differently Abled Cricket Club (DACC). 1.3 It is the player’s responsibility to familiarise themselves with both constitutions and comply with all provisions therein.
2. Player Responsibility
2.1 All players, participants, and affiliates of Titans Blind Cricket are required to read, understand, and adhere to the rules, regulations, and policies set forth by the structure. 2.2 Players must remain informed of any updates or changes to these rules, which will be published on the official Titans Blind Cricket website.
3. Player Commitment and Club Affiliation Bylaw
3.1 Binding Agreement
● Any player selected to represent Titans Blind Cricket acknowledges and accepts that they are bound by the rules, regulations, and governance of the Titans Blind Cricket structure.
● By accepting selection, the player agrees to uphold the integrity, discipline, and commitments required by the structure throughout the designated playing season.
3.2 Subscription and Financial Commitment
● Each player is fully subsidised for their club subscription fees, valued at R850 per season.
● This subsidy is a privilege provided to support players in their development and participation.
3.3 Club Affiliation and Transfer Restrictions
● The official playing season is 1 August 2025 – 30 May 2026.
● A player may not join any other club in any league during the active season without the consent of Titans Blind Cricket and DACC
● Players must participate in at least 80% of the season’s matches, unless injured or facing serious personal circumstances.
● Any player wishing to leave mid-season may do so only at the sole discretion of Titans Blind Cricket Management.
● If a transfer is approved, the player must repay the full subsidised subscription amount (R850) before clearance is granted.
3.4 Enforcement and Compliance
● Violations may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or disqualification.
● Non-compliance may lead to legal action to recover subscription costs and any associated legal fees.
● This bylaw is enforceable upon selection or registration and remains valid until the end of the designated season.
3.5 Amendments and Updates
● Titans Blind Cricket reserves the right to update bylaws or agreements at any time.
● Members must stay updated through the official Titans Blind Cricket website.
4. Tournament Conduct and Responsibilities
4.1 I will uphold the highest standards of behaviour and sportsmanship during training, matches, and tournaments. 4.2 My conduct reflects not only on myself, but also on the team, organisers, and the sport of Blind Cricket.
5. Curfew and Timekeeping
● 10:00 PM curfew during tournaments – players must be in their own rooms by this time.
● Punctuality is mandatory for breakfast, team bus departures, warm-ups, and on-field activities.
6. Substance Abuse
● Zero tolerance for alcohol and drugs.
● Random drug tests may be conducted.
● Failure to pass a drug test may result in suspension pending a disciplinary hearing.
7. Misconduct
● No abusive language, disrespect to teammates, opponents, or officials, or any conduct bringing the sport into disrepute will be tolerated.
8. Media and Social Media
● Players must participate in all media and social media activities as requested by management.
● This includes interviews, photo shoots, and official social media posts.
9. Image Release
I grant Titans Blind Cricket and its affiliates permission to use my image, likeness, and voice in photographs, videos, and audio recordings. This permission is perpetual and irrevocable.
Indemnity
By participating in any Blind Cricket or iCricket activity, I acknowledge and accept that I do so entirely at my own risk. I hereby indemnify and hold harmless Titans Blind Cricket, its management, coaches, and affiliates against any injury, loss, damage, or claim arising from my participation, whether during training, matches, tournaments, or travel related to such activities.
